why is it that when I was a child I hated puffy dresses, lace collars, mary-jane shoes and toy babies [I remember thinking how stupid it was a child pretending she could be a mother] and, on the contrary, I'd much rather wear shorts, Ninja Turtle t-shirts and Converse All Star sneakers - from the market - and riding my BMX?
yes, I do have an older brother. got it.
now, as an adult, I absolutely love polka dot skirts, flowered dresses, round collars and doll shoes. [I still don't like pretend-babies.]

well, all of this to tell you that when I was searching for a Peter Pan collar pattern, because I couldn't find one that matched the texture of the wool I was working with, I decided to create my very own pattern and it worked perfectly!
and that was a great moment as a maker: realising I now knew enough 'of it' to start making and adapting my very own crochet patterns.
