the first big snowfall

the first big snowfall

we arrived in The Netherlands a little over a year ago and, although it has rained snow that melted as soon as it touched the ground, we still haven't had a real proper snowfall.
let's get something straight: though we are Portuguese we know what snow is. not only it falls in some regions of our country, we both have practiced winter sports for several years.
so, people, we have seen snow. we have played with it. we have had snow fights. we have built snowmen to which we even have lent our scarves. it just never was a part of our daily lives.
the northerners need to understand something: waking up in the morning and seeing everything covered in white it's like having a childhood dream coming true. [or am I the only one to have dreamt of a closed school day spent sliding on the snow?]
on February 11th, 2017, it was Christmas all over again. and it probably won't happen anytime soon.

and the oh-so-much-fun we had?
