to my parents

to my parents

this one was inspired by my parents: during the week they were in town visiting, my father insisted I should really use more colors, where my mother suggested I should do hearts.
on the afternoon I wave them goodbye at the train station, I came back [to an empty] home and decided to get busy with my new weaving loom.
after a couple of hours, voilá.
if we pay a closer look, it's the perfect representation of my upbringing with them: far from perfect, with some character defining bumps on the way but filled with love.
it ended up being a somewhat thank you piece, for I am most certain to be where and what I am today because of them, giving me wings and teaching me to fly, searching for happier days. enjoying the simple things, getting to know the world.
they have flaws, like everyone else, and that's precisely why they are amazing. in my opinion: the best parents in the world.
this piece is about us.

thank you.
